The holidays are amongst us. The busy shopper has flooded the streets and stores trying to meet expectations to please their family members, co-workers, or friends. All this can take away from the festivities that the holiday season can bring.
In the last few years, I have been traveling to Italy to visit my daughter and one of the things we do together is ice skate. This year is a little different. Due to the pandemic, travel plans have been canceled, and won’t be able to, but that has not prevented me from ice skating while living in Las Vegas this year.
THE ICE RINK
Each holiday season The Cosmopolitan turns its Boulevard Pool into The Ice Rink, which sits above the Las Vegas Strip. USA Today named it one of the top 10 ice skating rinks in 2017.
The Ice Rink is made up of 4,200 square feet of real ice making it a winter wonderland on the strip. There are fire pits to roast s’mores, high top tables to sit down, and a bar where you can order yourself some warming cocktails or a beer.
Reservations are highly recommended for the fire pits and high top tables. They are very popular and everyone wants them since they have heaters to keep you warm during those cold days. Take a look at the menu to see their options.
Skating is first come first served and reservations are only required for New Year’s Eve. If you have your own skates feel free to bring them and if you do not its OK. The all-day skating access includes the skate rental in the price. If you are a Vegas local let them know. You can get a discount.
- $30 | Daily
- $20 | locals, military | Mon – Thurs
- $15 | skating aid rental
All ages are welcome to skate, but there is a skating waiver that must be signed. For skaters under 18, they can be accompanied by an adult who can sign on their behalf.
CONCLUSION
One of the best part of the holidays is bringing that joy of being child out. Receiving presents, eating some good food, enjoying family and friends. One way to make you feel like a kid all over again during the holiday season is going ice skating.
