Italy has been the country where I have spent the majority of my adult life. Being stationed at Aviano Air Base for 11 years can really make you a local. Not only did I pick up the language, but I learned all the good spots that are popular within the community. Growing up pastries where never my thing, but this place changed my mind and got me hooked.

When you walk up to Peratoner you are not entering pastry shop, but a world where sweets, pastries, and chocolate are abundance. The display window quickly steals your attention as you gaze at the seemingly endless options. The aromas you encounter will want you to taste the pastries as quick as possible.

You might ask yourself, Where to start? You can start by choosing from an array of drinks. Peratoner offers hot chocolate, coffees, about a 100 different types of teas. Then you can chose some little bit-size mousse morsels, a brioche, or some chocolates. The chocolates are made in a workshop next door. You can actually see the staff at work.

You can also ask for a confection tray to take home with you to share with your friends or family. Don’t be ashamed if you just keep it for yourself. I sometimes do that.

This pastry shop is located in the walking district of Pordenone, Italy, displays a fountain of rich running chocolate and showcases more sweets than you can sample in one sitting.

Currently the hours they have are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed Monday and for break between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday.
