Siracusa (or Syracuse, as it is still often referred as in English) is a beautiful town, with plenty to see for at least a couple of days. This town is a fine cultural destination and very significant in developing the Mediterranean culture for over three millennia, which is why it is recognized by UNESCO's heritage list.

I could have chosen to live in a big city, but I really wanted to live somewhere away from the chaos that a big city has, but be near enough where I can drive to it. I wanted a small coastal town, with the essentials, which to me is a few bar options, some restaurants, grocery store and a bakery. Well, I found it and it and it puts me in the middle of two cool cities, Syracuse and Catania. Brucoli is the town I will be calling home for a while and I would love to share this hidden coastal pearl with you.

Being stationed at Aviano Air Base, Italy placed me in a position that made traveling very accessible. About two-hour drive north, you can make it to Austria, two hours east, easily puts you in Slovenia or Croatia. Two-hour drive in other directions puts you into some beautiful places within Italy. What about those weekends when you are off-duty and you want to keep it somewhat local? Well, I might have a spot for you.
