THE JOURNEY STARTS

on
November 19, 2020

Well, it finally happened. I’ve started a blog. After 19 years in the Air Force, my career has taken me all over the world. Made some good friends and seen some places I thought I would have never imagined. 16 of those years were spent living overseas in Europe, Asia, and now I’m back in the United States.

Thanks to my career I was able to see over 20 countries and gained a lot of travel experience. From situation awareness, staying safe, and most importantly being able to step away from the base and go beyond the wire.

I want to share my travels, life, and experiences with you to inspire you to move past the insecurities that can occur when living in a new area. Also, push your limits to go further than you have imagined.

Origins

Being all over the world and sharing my stories with family and friends has made me realized that traveling isn’t easy as I thought it was. There is planning, coordination, and some stressed involved that not everyone can handle.
That is probably why a lot of my friends I have met only stay within the compounds of the base and go to the usual hangout spots everyone goes to. There is nothing wrong with that, but I hope to share some of my perspectives to encourage you to go out and explore.
In the military, the term inside or outside the wire is a term used to describe whether you are on or off base. While being in the military you’ll be surprised how many people don’t step outside the wire. I want to show you that life while in the military can be fun and what you do off duty can make a difference wherever you are stationed at.

Share your stories

I also want you to be involved. I would love to hear from your travels and the experiences you have had while being in the military. The goal is not just to concentrate on military life, but also beyond it. If you are a military member or just a wanderlust like myself and want to contribute feel free to contact me. Let’s inspire others to go beyond the wire and explore!

Conclusion

Overall, I want to have fun with this. I’m always traveling and being exposed to new places, and why not share it with the world.  It is a way for us to express ourselves of how we are part of this world
